My first year at GANDT Ventures

Here it is ... the milestone I thought was months away. What can i say about it? The last year has passed in a flash.

It's now been a year since I joined the GANDT team and I have to say that I don't regret this decision. Over the past year I've worked with extremely creative and bright people who have helped me find my voice.

How it all started

Before GANDT, I worked in an environment that the “Digital First” mindset had not yet internalized. Since I come from the field of digital startups, I knew that I ultimately wanted to work in a digital environment again. That's when I found out about GANDT. A close friend of mine saw the job offer online and shared it with me as the job sounded like an interesting option to me. She was right, it was exactly what I was looking for.

A few days after my application, I met part of the GANDT team for an initial interview. After the first meeting, I was a little intimidated by the knowledge the team had, but I knew this could be a great place for me. Why did it suit me? I realized that we all have similar professional backgrounds and digital mindsets.

Review: my first months

When I came to GANDT, I was lucky enough to be able to work on a project that I still support today. From day one, I felt like I played an important role on the team and there was a lot of trust placed in me. Saying that I wanted to get started right away is best as an illustration of my feelings.

In the first few months I wanted to show the team what I knew, but also learn from the very talented people I work with every day. Learning and development are very much encouraged by GANDT, which enabled me to expand my knowledge in a short time. I knew that I was particularly interested in the areas of SEO and content marketing. The team did nothing but encourage me to want to learn these skills. I started by joining the HubSpot Academy and getting its content marketing certification. In addition, I took SEO courses and learned skills whenever I could. In the ever-changing digital world, I appreciate that we are encouraged to develop our skills and stay up to date with the latest developments. Ultimately, that's what helps us deliver the best work we can to customers.

Looking for my voice

When I joined GANDT, I was shy and doubted myself more than I should. Being an "extroverted introvert" made it difficult for me to open up as much as I should. I always had self-doubt in the back of my mind. I was afraid to disappoint with my work.

Over time, I found more self-confidence. My study plan has helped me consolidate the skills I already had so that I ultimately feel more comfortable sharing my opinions and advice. Today I feel very comfortable in my role and know where my strengths and weaknesses lie. Knowing where my weaknesses are has allowed me to work with the team in different ways and urged myself to ask for help when I need it.

Closing word

I am grateful for the way we work together as a team. I know that I can approach everyone on the team and receive input or feedback on specific tasks. The collaboration that I experience every day makes this one of the best I've ever had. In addition, this approach also helps us to give our best and to tailor our skills to the specific needs of our customers.

Working with this team has helped me learn to always be myself. So what do I take with me from my first year? Always be myself. The knowledge and the individual personality are worth more than one would expect.

So - be yourself without apologizing for it.
