Armenia: Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh and Armenia with the direct involvement of Turkey and foreign terrorists

Vienna (OTS) - Breaking their own agreements has become a bad tradition for the Azerbaijani leadership. On October 25, Armenia and Azerbaijan, through the mediation of the US Secretary of State, agreed for the third time on a humanitarian ceasefire, which should come into effect on October 26 at 8:00 a.m. local time. However, as expected, Azerbaijan again violated the ceasefire. Azerbaijan had previously violated the humanitarian ceasefire brokered by Russia on October 10 and France on October 17. Instead of maintaining the ceasefire, the Azerbaijani army launched a new offensive on October 26th together with mercenary terrorists and jihadists. They bombed villages and towns in Artsakh, killed civilians (the elderly, children), committed new horrific war crimes, beheaded and tortured the soldiers.

The authoritarian regime in Azerbaijan refuses to comply with any of the unwritten laws of war and international humanitarian law - the exchange of murdered soldiers and prisoners of war, rejects the services of the Red Cross (ICRC), which is typical behavior of a belligerent authoritarian dictatorship the life of its citizens is nothing. According to reports from reliable sources, Azerbaijan's losses amount to about 7,000, of which 1,100 have already been identified by specialists. Azerbaijan does not publish any information about its military victims, probably for fear of uprisings in its country.

It should be noted that another reason for opposition to ICRC services is closely related to the involvement of terrorists and jihadists. Today Artsakh fights against international terrorism. Leading Western media outlets such as Reuters, The Guardian and the BBC have documented involvement in the Nagorno-Karabakh war. Turkey is transporting extremist terrorists, jihadists from Syria and Libya to Azerbaijan to support Baku in its war against the Armenians. Azerbaijan believes that terrorist involvement will become apparent when the ICRC or other international organization is on the ground.

Given the miserable situation regarding media freedom in Azerbaijan and the even stricter restrictions on the already restricted media and expression in that country, we are witnessing the uncontrolled and unrestricted disinformation and fake news produced by Azerbaijani propaganda.

Referring to the arguments about Turkey's involvement in this conflict, recruitment and transfer of foreign terrorists, it is important to underline that on October 20th, after a cabinet meeting of the Turkish President, President Erdogan emphasized that Turkey is getting bigger and stronger , Its areas of interest are expanding, Turkey will continue to stand by "its brothers and sisters in all regions, from the Balkans to the Caucasus, from Asia to Africa". He added that Turkey will still create many nightmares for the countries dreaming of removing Turkey from "the geographical area" they have defended as their homeland.

This statement undoubtedly proves that the main actor in this war is not Azerbaijan. There is no doubt that today's Azerbaijani aggression is the implementation of a program developed by Turkey with the aim of completing the policy that Turkey initiated 100 years ago. The Turkish President spoke very clearly about this on July 22nd and announced: "We will continue to fulfill the mission that our ancestors carried out for centuries in the Caucasus."

Attempts at the level of the President of Azerbaijan to give the Karabakh conflict a religious dimension, which is a provocation, can unfortunately lead to disastrous consequences.

Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh has proven that Artsakh can in no way be part of Azerbaijan. As a result of his actions, Azerbaijan lost all moral, legal and political right to claim power over Artsakh and its people.
