Is China an apostilled country?

The duration of the process for obtaining an apostille or legalization depends on various factors.

On the one hand, it depends on what type of document you have, or where and by which authority the document was issued.

For German documents and public documents that have already been certified by an authority, a notary or a translator, this takes longer Apostille approx. 3 - 7 working days.

If pre-certification is required, e.g. by a notary, the medical association, a court or another authority, a further 3 - 7 working days must be planned.

If you have a document or a certificate from abroad, the processing time will be longer because, among other things, other processing times by the authorities as well as shipping times are added. Depending on the country, processing here can take up to 3 weeks. In these cases, a power of attorney with an apostille in Germany is often required to obtain a new document or the apostille abroad.

A legalization usually takes more time, since legalization by the respective consulate in which the document is to be used also has to be carried out in order to be authenticated by the German authorities. In addition, in some countries it is necessary to obtain further certification before submitting it to the consulate, e.g. the final certification by the Federal Office of Administration and GHORFA.
